There is another thing: NPC Factions are scary! Going to war with one can easily get out of control as they will periodically spawn armies from their dwellings, making them nigh unassailable and exceedingly dangerous late-game when they're filled with top-tier units. The lack of cover and high armour of naval units makes low-tier land units complete fodder in most cases. Naval units wipe the floor with land-based ones, and a strong navy can be basically insurmountable-but they are only useful to run interference, as they can never conquer land (or cities). Then the straggler got wiped out three turns from the Synthesis. I ended up getting an Alliance victory as I pursued a Doomsday victory, because all of the remaining factions-save one-wanted to ally rather than lose. Took much longer than it should have because of how worn out/unfocused I was by the end. Or maybe a scenario/campaign editor? That would be awesome. I think all of the campaign missions have maps that are procedurally generated, so the info is in the game. I'm curious if they'll add more scenario-skirmishes as free DLC. Every campaign mission has given a varied & interesting challenge to overcome, with a few missions having some cool twists as Toma was saying. Though some of the missions have been pretty tough (CNex-3 most of all), I've had a blast getting here. Once I finish this and the second Assembly mission, all I'll have left is the final campaign mission. I think if I had a better handle on that this whole mission would be easier. It's kinda revealing my weakness on the strategic map, because I'm not very good at actually optimising cities' output. ![]() I can barely even find other AIs, let alone expand my empire everything takes FOREVER because of all the water.I've restarted it once and I'm tempted to do so again. It's a game of wits and I'm so bad at it, lol. There are like 7 AI factions at play, though you do start with all espionage research unlocked. ![]() Chains of islands are connected via teleporters, and it's the first large map I've encountered. It's an archipelago map with limited land available. ![]()
